Yes. That’s actually one of the reasons people reach out. If you’ve been out of care, HUE can help you get reconnected and step back into support without shame or pressure.
Ryan White and ADAP can help with more than one kind of cost, depending on the program and eligibility. ADAP provides FDA-approved HIV medications for low-income people with HIV and can also be used to buy health insurance for eligible clients and provide services that improve access to, adherence to, and monitoring of drug treatment.
HRSA policy also allows Ryan White funds in some cases to assist with premiums and cost-sharing such as co-pays, coinsurance, and deductibles.
No. HUE works with people whether they have insurance or not. Medicare and Medicaid are accepted, and there’s also a sliding scale for those without coverage. The ultimate goal is not to let cost be the thing that keeps people from getting support.
You can still reach out. Life happens, and gaps in care don’t mean you have failed or missed your chance. HUE can help reconnect you with care, get your information updated in the right systems, and work through whatever got in the way in the first place to make your journey through treatment easier.
