As a community-based organization and health equity system here in Houston, HUE helps make sense of what you’re facing, find support, and move through systems that are often confusing, disconnected, or hard to navigate alone.

But people don’t experience life that way. One challenge can impact another, and the pressure can build quickly when support feels disconnected.

ABOUT
Our Founder
HUE is led by founder Khalil Scott, whose life and work have been shaped by firsthand experience with fragmented systems.
Raised in group homes, foster homes, and behavioral health facilities, Khalil saw how easily people can be moved through systems without the clarity, consistency, or support they need.
That experience became the foundation for HUE’s larger vision: build a community-based organization in Houston that supports people now while strengthening the pathways, partnerships, and infrastructure needed for long-term change.
